When I (fh) was more active in the mine exploration and development industry, I mapped this deposit finding impressive gold values, but the boss didn’t bite, and the property went to a competitor. At the time I was there, I felt like I was the first to be there in years, and there were plenty of artifacts to be had. This fabulous portfolia of advertisements and other material was probably used by a salesperson for the Fisk Rubber Co, which specialized in manufacturing automobile tires and tubes. The portfolio contains 35, 12 x 15”, advertisements with various scenes. Some are full color, most are black and white. There is some duplication of ads, and not all are printed on glossy, heavy stock paper. There are about 4 pages of advertisement ideas, such as using single frames at the movie theatres during an intermission. Two of the posters have a short history about the Fisk Rubber Co with a view of the plant. A travelling advertisement representative for Fisk probably visited several of the Fisk dealerships, probably to buy the ad posters, which could be, in some cases, specialized for that dealer. At the bottom of each ad there is a listing of when the ad would run and in what magazine, including Vogue, Evening Post, Harper’s Bazar, Vanity Fair, etc. Included within the portfolia are separated pages from issues of The Delineator, 1923. Why these are in the portfolio is not clear. A fantastic auto related collectible. Est. $300-600 853. Transportation. Steamer Documents, 1866-71. Lot of 5 different pcs. Letterhead from P. C.
