1101. Washoe. Reno. N. E. Wilson Medicine Bottles. Lot of 2 bottles. N. E. Wilson Co. Inc./ Pharmacists/ Virginia St Opp. P. O./ Phone 425/ Reno, Nevada. Both have identical embossing. This is one of the few drugstore bottles from Nevada that have the state name fully spelled out. The older variant is 6 7/8" tall. It has no seam above the neck and is lightly frosty with no visible chips. It probably dates to 1916, the first year of the store's existence, and is a rare bottle. The second is the newer (and common) variant with a seam from an automatic bottle machine manufacture running up the neck and over the top, usually indicative of post-1915 bottles. It is 6 1/8" tall, with no chips and light frost. Wilson was one of the leading druggists in Reno with a store that lasted into the second half of the twentieth century. Est. $40-80
